EU Assessment Finds Reveals Cybercrime Police Is Using Outdated Equipment
In just over a decade, the cases handled by Police’s Cyber Crime department has surged to over 1,000 percent increase. With so many more cases to handle, the police is still using outdated equipment.
A recent evaluation report by EU has determined that the systems deployed at the cybercrime unit of the police are obsolete and unable to handle the growing threats of modern cybercrime.
The report covered specific areas that included child sexual abuse/pornography, cyber attacks and card fraud. According to the report the police is using systems that are several years old. They also suffer from lack of human resources and technical equipment necessary to fight the threats.
