The European Council has just adopted new cybersecurity rules that will make information services and networks across the European Union secure and safer than ever before.
The Network and information security (NIS) now requires key entities like the energy, finance, health and transport sectors to take necessary steps to reduce the risks of attacks in the cyber space. Key players like digital service providers including search engines, marketplaces and cloud services also received the same request. They are to inform for any major security threats if found.
However, strict rules have only been set aside to the crucial sectors like energy, transport, health and finance. Digital marketplaces will have it easier.
