Even Nascar Isn’t Safe From Cyber Criminals
Even Nascar teams aren’t safe from cyber attacks anymore. Hackers recently attacked the Circle Sport-Leavine Family Racing’s (CSLFR) and stole car, driver and course data using ransomware. This event highlights how far cyber crime has come through.
The story was first published by Nascar. Before the big race in April next year, the chief of the team Dave Winston’s computer was also hacked. Information like vital files were stolen leaving the team unable to properly prepare for the upcoming race.
The hacking was completed using the TeslaCrypt Ransomware program that has since been also shutdown after the event.
