Government looks at algorithms to crack quantum computers

It is widely known that quantum computers are able to render most of today’s encryption useless. A recently published report by the federal agency focused on cryptography on a quantum computer that outlines the long term approach that will help in avoiding the problem in the future before it even begins.

Researchers at MIT recently demonstrated that a five atom quantum computer is easily able to crack encryption schemes that are relies on factoring large numbers to make sure there is enough security.

In order to avoid someone building up a large quantum computer that is powerful, the government is looking at algorithms to be able to crack it.
