The TSA Continues To Fail At Cybersecurity
Department of Homeland Security audits over the five years have revealed that the TSA has not been able to tackle cybersecurity threats at all.
The final report details a lot of serious and persistent problems with the TSA mishandling IT security protocols. Issues such as software with known vulnerabilities being used, no sign of incident reports and nearly no physical security protecting critical IT systems is present.
The report focuses on how TSA mishandles the security around the data management system which is directly connected to the airport screening equipment and centralized servers.
It was also found out that TSA employees don’t know how to implement STIP properly.
